Granite Lodge Rooms

There are nine rooms in the Granite Lodge, each finding design inspiration in iconic Western themes, such as the great old railroad hotels during the turn of the century and the classic guns that helped win the West.  Our Lodge weaves luxury, style and authenticity together in a manner unique among guest ranches in Montana.

Winchester - features a king bed as well as a full size pull out loveseat, thus accommodating up to three guests comfortably.  Located on the lower level, Winchester also has high ceilings and private access from the courtyard.

Remington - has a queen bed with a twin pull out sofa.  This room is ADA approved.  It is also located on the lower level with high ceilings and private access from the courtyard.

Appaloosa - offers a king canopy bed with views to the west and south toward the hills behind the Granite Lodge.  This room in on the upper level.

Mustang - is the only room in the Granite Lodge that features two queen beds.  Located on the upper level, Mustang's view is northwestern toward Rock Creek.

Palomino - features a king canopy bed with views to the southeast on the upper level of the Granite Lodge.

Sharps - has a king bed with a private balcony over the courtyard of the Granite Lodge.  Located on the upper level, its view looks toward the Rock Creek Valley.

Derringer - features a king bed with views of the Rock Creek valley in the corner of the upper level.  Derringer may be combined with Sharps to form a two-bedroom family suite.

Springfield - offers a king bed with a private balcony over the courtyard of the Granite Lodge.  It also views the Rock Creek valley from the upper level.

Colt - features either a king bed or two twin beds in the corner of the upper level.  Colt may be combined with Springfield to form a two-bedroom family suite.

Luxury Riverside Canvas Cabins

For some, the definitive experience at our luxury guest ranch is to stay in one of our signature Canvas Cabins - the true "glamping" experience.  Yards from Rock Creek, these "tents" as they are casually called, offer the best way to feel a part of nature.  They are individually furnished in a rustic camp style, featuring private baths, comfortable beds with luxurious bedding and the murmur of the creek running by just outside your front door.

The luxury canvas cabins are truly the best of both worlds, a luxury guest ranch experience rooted in the deepest creekside privacy.  Immerse yourself with nature by staying in one of our eight canvas cabins. 

Classic Canvas Cabins total 630 square feet.  Each of these four cabins offers a spacious main room that serves as the bedroom and living area.

The Rainbow and Apache cabins include both a king bed and a queen pull-out, along with a comfortable sitting area perfect for evening relaxation.

The Gila and Bull cabins feature two queen beds and a love seat.

Each of our four Family Canvas Cabins features two rooms separated by a curtain.  The family canvas cabins total 810 square feet.  All family canvas cabins have comfortable reading nooks.

The Grayling and Lake cabins offer one room with a king bed and two twin beds in the other.

The Cutbow and Brook cabins feature a king bed in one room as well as two twin beds and a trundle in the other.  These cabins are ideal for families of four or five.

Sweetgrass

Named after the aromatic mountain plant, Sweet Grass is our most spacious and lavish glamping tent. It is ideal for families or two couples, with two master suites, connected by a main living area. Each master suite is appointed with a king bed, a claw foot bathtub, a private full bath and a gas stove. The master suites can accommodate additional guests, one with a day bed and the other with a queen pull-out. The main living space has a large seating area, kitchenette, dining table and wood-burning stove. It opens onto an outdoor patio, where you can relax to the sounds of nearby Rock Creek in a private cedar soaking tub. Standard occupancy is 4 guests with a maximum occupancy of 7.

Trapper Cabin

The Loft

Recreated in the hayloft of The Ranch’s 19th-century barn, The 700-square-foot Loft combines the charm of exposed-rafter ceilings with luxurious amenities. The bedroom/sitting area has a king bed, queen pullout sofa, large-screen television and stereo. The bath features a huge marble-tiled shower with a built-in bench, and the elegant slipper tub is large enough for two. The outdoor porch or the indoor gaming table are perfect for evening socializing.

Wrangler

Located in the same remodeled barn as The Loft, Wrangler features a queen bed, full bath, sitting area with separate W.C. The covered porch just outside offers views out across the meadow, with the sounds of the creek murmuring in the distance.

This 950-square-foot, one-bedroom cabin offers privacy, space, and some truly remarkable amenities. The primary living space has a king bed, and its appealing décor is enhanced by an audiophile-quality sound system and hidden flat screen television. There is a quiet sitting area, and the full bath with deep tub and 8-person sauna deliver welcome relaxation. A heated, screened porch offers the chance to enjoy the sounds of Rock Creek all year long, which flows just a few feet from this stunning cabin.

Moose House

Moose House is a three-bedroom home tucked away in a secluded hillside setting, befitting its namesake animals that retreat to peaceful surroundings. Overlooking Rock Creek and the Granite Lodge, guests may feel it is more home away from home or private ski chalet than Montana luxury resort. On the main floor there is a master suite with a king bed and en-suite bathroom. Guests enjoy a charming sitting area with a wood-burning fireplace, full kitchen, half-bathroom and laundry facility. Upstairs there are two bedrooms: one with two twin beds, or converted king, a daybed and trundle, and another with two queen beds. The upstairs bedrooms share a full bathroom. Moose House also has a back porch with a sitting area and a hot tub that face Mary Beth's Peak. Standard occupancy for Moose House is 6 guests with a maximum occupancy of 9 guests.

Bear House

The five bedroom Bear House is an appealing log home located a short walk from the Granite Lodge.  Downstairs there is a room with a double bed, and another room with two twins that share a full bath.  Upstairs is the master suite with a king bed and en-suite bath.  In addition there are two more bedrooms, each with one queen bed and en-suite bath.  There is a living room with a fireplace, full kitchen, dining room and sun porch.  The Bear House also has internet access, a deck with a hot tub and a laundry room.  This home's standard occupancy is six guests, with a maximum of ten.

River House

The River House sits on the banks of Rock Creek across the road from the Granite Lodge. On the main level, there is a master bedroom with a queen bed and bath, and a private deck. Also on the first floor there is a living room with a fireplace as well as a full kitchen with a screened-in dining porch. In addition, there are laundry facilities and an office. Upstairs, the home offers two bedrooms each with a queen bed and bath, sitting area with TV, and pull-out full bed. The River House has a standard occupancy of up to 6, with a maximum of 8 guests.

Archery

Whether you envision Robin Hood or Catniss Everdeen with a bow at the ready, The Ranch provides an accessible and exciting opportunity to learn archery or hone your bow skills. Our Rod & Gun guides provide extensive safety and technique instruction with fully adjustable compound bows. Guests start by practicing on traditional bullseye targets while receiving personalized instruction. Once you're hitting the mark, move through the secluded hillside range, where you'll find an exciting and intricate 3-D archery course that can put your skills to the test. A selection of near-to-life-sized foam animals are situated along a short, easy hiking trail. Walking the trail allows you to shoot at different angles and target positions to recreate an authentic Montana bow-hunting experience.

Bicycle Rentals

Bicycles are provided on a complimentary basis for each guest for their use while at The Ranch. In addition to this, mountain biking is available as an activity to explore the multitude of trails on our 6,600 acres. This can be booked through the Rod & Gun Club.

Boardroom Meeting Space

The Library is dedicated to brunches, meetings or small receptions. Comforts include upholstered chairs, a flat-screen TV, a wrap-around table and bookshelves filled with Western classics. This space also works well in combination with the Great Hall for a bar/lounge area or a kids dining room during a reception. For groups of more than 30 guests, the Buckle Barn is available with AV.

Bocce Ball Court

Lawn games such as bocce and horseshoes are available at The Ranch for guest use. Often these are set up at the Buckle Barn or Blue Canteen for weekly Ranch events in the evening.

Bowling Alley

The Silver Dollar Saloon hosts a four lane bowling alley for guests' use. This is very popular amongst guests after dinner.

Breakfast Room

Breakfast can be enjoyed daily in the Dining Room located in the Granite Lodge. Breakfast is also served seasonally in the Blue Canteen located at Camp Roosevelt. A breakfast bar is presented each morning in the Great Room of the Granite Lodge which serves coffees, teas, and light pastries.

Car and Bicycle Rental

Our team of Guest Managers are happy to assist with local car rentals for an additional cost. Bicycles are available for each guest to use during their stay on a complimentary basis, in addition to mountain biking excursions which can be booked with one of our guides.

Fishing

Whether you've dreamed of Montana fly fishing for years or you've yet to cast for the first time, you will not be disappointed by the opportunities on our namesake Rock Creek. Four miles of private access and pristine river frontage on this freestone mountain stream boasts seven species of fish: Westslope cutthroat, rainbow, cut-bow, brown, brookie, bull and the Rocky Mountain whitefish. Rock Creek is famous for its salmonfly hatch starting in late May and lasting into July, as well as additional hatches including mayflies, golden stoneflies and caddis fly. Our licensed and trained fishing guides are excited to share their professional expertise and personal passion for fishing. They go above and beyond to ensure that your fishing experience is both enjoyable and successful.

Function Room

From the 2,700 sq. ft. Great Hall to the surrounding flagstone and manicured lawn, the Buckle Barn is our most versatile year-round venue. Bathed in natural light and built with reclaimed barn wood and stamped ceiling tiles, our event barn can be booked for private breakfasts, luncheons, dinners and receptions. Game Room

The Silver Dollar Saloon takes its name from the Silver Dollars embedded in the bar, which are seen as a good luck charm. Located near the Granite Lodge, the Silver Dollar Saloon opens its doors nightly for merriment and activities for all ages. As the evening entertainment hub of The Ranch, it is equal parts cowboy saloon and luxe club. The high ceilings, large floor plan and curated decor also make this an ideal space for private functions and special events, such as yoga classes and live music. -

Golf Nearby

Between May and October, you can travel to the Old Works Golf Club in Anaconda, Montana. Located just 45 minutes from The Ranch, enjoy this Jack Nicklaus signature designed golf course and the scenery on the Pintler Scenic Route.

Cross country skiing is available for guests on The Ranch's multitude of trails during the winter months. All gear and guides will be provided as part of our all-inclusive rates.

Shooting Centre

Shooting is a Montana tradition with deep roots in our history. It is also a rich part of modern identity to a large group of responsible multi-generational sportspeople. The Ranch at Rock Creek offers an unmatchable multi-faceted set of ranges and activities that experts and novices alike find challenging and enjoyable. Our guides train each guest on safety guidelines, proper handling and techniques with all equipment to ensure a safe experience for everyone. Through private instruction and a controlled environment, guests can develop new abilities while achieving a sense of accomplishment. Our program is designed to teach skills and safety to first-time shooters while giving experienced marksmen an opportunity to test their abilities. There are four shooting ranches which include rifles, pistols, sporting clays, and trap & skeet.

Skeet Shooting

Our outstanding Trap and Skeet course is a quick-trigger challenge game designed to test the reflexes of the shooter. Skeet shooting is a fast game consisting of nine fixed shooting stations and two fixed traps, or target throwers. The shooter rotates through the stations shooting singles and doubles for a total of twenty-five shots per game.Our trap shoot consists of five shooting lanes with varying degrees of difficulty and one fixed trap, or target thrower. The trap oscillates to create new challenging positions between shots. Each new shot varies in angle and height. Participants in a "singles" game of trap will shoot five targets from each of the five stations. In a "doubles" game the competitor shoots at five pairs and ten targets at each of the five stations.

Skiing Nearby

Only 35 minutes from The Ranch, Discovery Ski Area boasts the shortest lift lines in Montana. The mountain has three faces and 67 trails, including bunny hills, moguls, groomed trails and double-black diamond runs. Recently, Warren Miller filmed part of his 2014 film, No Turning Back, at Discovery Ski Area on these expert runs.

The Ranch is open year-round and offers a robust activity program which includes downhill skiing at nearby Discovery Ski Area, cross-country skiing, snow shoeing, ice skating, horseback riding, sleigh rides and snow mobiling.

Yoga Studio

Our private yoga sessions are dedicated to deepening the breath, strengthening alignment, and building balance for overall wellness. Ranch yoga is as versatile as your Montana experiences. Start with a traditional indoor flow or move beyond the four corners of the mat and experience the serenity of yoga in a stunning outdoor setting. During the winter, we offer complimentary weekly group sessions and Snowga sessions. Private sessions are offered in varying styles, such as vinyasa, hatha, restorative, power or gentle, and they can be combined with your daily Ranch adventures like mountain biking, hiking and the ropes course.

Granite Lodge

Our cuisine at The Ranch reflects its pure surroundings – prime organic beef, elk, bison, free-range chicken, organic eggs, fresh fish, seasonal local fruits, vegetables and fresh herbs, all enhanced by an inspired wine list. Chef Josh Drage is a superb chef whose skills and attention to detail are reflected in menu items such as Montana elk ribeye with Flathead cherry demi-glace, watermelon and fennel salad, and white chocolate macadamia nut brownies.

Meals are served in the Granite Lodge, with some flexibility to accommodate guests individual schedules and preferences. This way, if you would rather be out fishing the evenings rise than rushing back for dinner, you won’t miss out on The Ranch’s remarkable culinary experience.
